Keith Women’s Guild

Keith Women’s Guild has six members with several more ladies who are only able to attend our evening meetings. We use the Lutheran Women for our Devotions and Bible studies. We have not missed any meetings during COVID-19. In April we had a zoom meeting. With six members, we were able to physically distance so that, once the church was opened, we had our May meeting in the church hall. During the winter months we …

Brinkworth – Snowtown – Blyth Women’s Guild

It is unusual to be writing a report under the circumstances that Australia now finds itself in. Praise God we still have the freedom to be able to encourage each other by phone, internet, and prayer. Having lost our President, Esma Krieg, in May 2019, our numbers have reduced. But we gained four members from the Blyth congregation, when their Guild closed. Our attendance is now an average of four to eight per meeting. We …

Adelaide Bethlehem Sanctuary Guild

It has been a privilege and joy to meet regularly for Bible study, fellowship and service activities. We are particularly grateful to Pastors Fraser Pearce and Joshua Pfeiffer who faithfully led our Bible studies each month. Vicar Peter Noble also led three studies and shared both his spiritual journey and his excitement about his call to study for the pastoral ministry at ALC. A number of guest speakers gave us food for thought and broadened …

Zion Women’s Fellowship, Angaston

The Zion Women’s Fellowship, Angaston is a group of 12 women who are dedicated, cheerful, well-organised, and always willing to help. We were delighted to welcome Pastor Rob Borgas and his wife, Kriss, in 2018, who have come to us from Alice Springs. Their unique experiences in central Australia have opened our eyes to a different perspective from life in a predominantly German culture. Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month, with …

“Hearts & Hands” Ladies Fellowship, Blair Athol

“Hearts & Hands” Ladies Fellowship, Blair Athol usually meets on the second Wednesday of each month with a group of approximately 15 ladies. Our meetings start with prayer and devotion taken from either the Lutheran Women magazine or a member’s own resource. Our year began with a meal held at a local venue, this was a great opportunity to invite friends, enjoy food (that is prepared with a night off cooking!) and fellowship. Included in …

LWSA-NT President’s Report

The 2019/2020 year began with a time of celebration, as some 30 members flew to Perth to join our LWWA sisters for their 50th Annual Convention. I trust our time with them gave them support and encouragement. Our 53rd Convention, on 18 May 2019, met with the theme Radiant with Hope. It’s special to see the joy on this day, as some 200 travel from all over the state to be together. Bishop of LCA-SA-NT, …

LWSA-NT Retreat – All Stitched Up!

Extraordinary, amazing, singular, exceptional are words to sum up the LWSA-NT In Stitches Retreat held at Immanuel College, Adelaide from January 17th-19th. Pastor Reid Matthias (of the “Little Church on The Prairie” fame) welcomed retreaters to the fabulous new venue for the 2020 retreat. Pastor Reid is a storyteller, and he did have us in stitches as he shared stories of his journey growing up at Rake, Iowa, on the Prairie in the USA. Pastor …

Barmera Ladies Fellowship

Our happy, caring and enthusiastic group of ladies meet on the third Tuesday afternoon of the month in our church hall, or sometimes we have home meetings. We take turns to read a devotion and host afternoon tea. We have our Bible studies which are taken from the Lutheran Women magazine. For our roll call we choose a hymn verse which is particularly meaningful to us. Our entertainment takes on various forms: going out for …

Bethlehem – Adelaide – Ladies Guild

Bethlehem Women’s Guild, Adelaide, has enjoyed many blessings with Bible studies being led by Pastors Pearce and Pfeiffer, and in 2019 Vicar Peter Noble. Bible Studies are usually taken from Lutheran Women magazine. We are in our 127th year. We had a big celebration in October 2018 for 125th birthday and invited other guilds to share this milestone with us. On the Sunday, we had a community lunch with the congregation to mark the occasion. …

St Mark’s Women’s Fellowship, Underdale

We are a very small group, but we are happy to meet monthly and remain affiliated with LWSA-NT. After our meeting, Pastor Welke leads us in Bible study after which we enjoy lunch and a chat. In May and October, we meet with our sisters from Glandore. It is a privilege to take part in the World Day of Prayer annually, this year it will be hosted by the Anglican Church. During winter we will …

St James, Whyalla

We thank and praise God for another year of fellowship and being able to continue without the leadership of a pastor. Our average attendance is 14 and we alternate the meetings between Bible study and a guest speaker. The meetings are held in the church hall in warmer months and in private homes during winter. In May we held our Mother’s Day trading table at a local supermarket. Once a month we either have soup …
