South Australia/Northern Territory

The Lutheran Women of South Australia and Northern Territory (LWSA–NT) provides encouragement and support for all women, so that they may come to know Jesus and grow in his love. 

Many groups of Lutheran Women meet each month to study God’s Word, share entertaining activities together and work for the well-being of the extended community.

Local community service includes supporting age care facilities through visiting, sewing and baking.  Volunteering in Op Shops of the Lutheran Church serves to provide funds for Lutheran Care, which assists new arrivals, unemployed and socially disadvantaged folk.  Lutheran Women also support and send funds for Overseas Aid projects, including Homes for orphaned children, displaced and disadvantaged women, and maternal care following childbirth, women’s care and counselling centre, and study centres.

This is just a small sample of the projects supported by Lutheran Women.  The aim is to show the love of God, and his care for all, through acts of service.

The state is divided into ten zones: Adelaide Hills;  Barossa;  Eyre Peninsula;  Lower Murray;  Metropolitan North;  Metropolitan South;  Mid-North / Yorke Peninsula;  Riverland;  South East;  Upper North.  There is also a group which meet in Alice Springs, Northern Territory.
