On the first Wednesday of each month, the ladies of Gilgandra/Dubbo Fellowship meet together for Bible study and fellowship.
Two meetings are held in Gilgandra, and the rest in Dubbo, with an average of ten to twelve ladies attending. We are happy that two, sometimes three, ladies travel from Parkes to join with us.
We were blest with the arrival of Pastor Joseph Graham in our parish at the beginning of the year, followed by his wife Rehab, after their marriage in April.
Joseph leads us in Bible study from Lutheran Women. These studies have given us some lively discussions and spiritually rewarding sessions.
During the year, our members meet for coffee with some of the ladies who are unable to join with us at our meetings. We also post or hand out copies of Lutheran Womento a number of women in our congregation and the surrounding area, keeping them in touch with our group.
Two years ago, and again last year, the decision was made by our fellowship to hold the zone rally on a Sunday instead of the usual Saturday. All church members, and children, within our Central West Zone were invited to attend.
The days began with a welcoming cuppa followed by a church service, speakers and the business section, while the men cooked a barbeque. After lunch everyone joined together to listen to the guest speaker. We concluded the spirit filled day with singing, devotion and prayer.
This year Parkes congregation has offered to host the fellowship day.
Our collections continue to go to the LWA projects. It is interesting to read about the projects which we support in the magazine. Special thanks to the writers and publishers for these articles.
