Welcome to a new year of Lutheran Women magazine!
Our theme for our Bible studies this year is Conversations; Jesus and … and our studies and devotions will explore conversations Jesus had with a variety of people during his time on earth. He reached out to people where they were, noting the minutiae of their lives and situations, gently inviting them to see their need for his saving grace. As we prepare these issues for you, it is our prayer that you will be guided to have your own conversations with Jesus and receive many blessings.
This year is also LWA General Convention and South Australia looks forward to hosting you as we come together this October under the theme: How great thou art. As the year progresses, each issue will contain important information about the planned program and our venue. Please read all the information carefully and plan now to attend.
We note that there was considerable confusion regarding your subscriptions for this year. We acknowledge that there have been some changes beyond our control during the past few years. Not the least has been the spiralling costs of postage and handling, and the scarcity and cost of paper. Enclosing an individual account for each subscriber with the October issue of the magazine is the most economical way of letting everyone know that their subscription is due. When subscriptions become due again at the end of this year, we ask that you keep the subscription notice enclosed in the October issue and use it when making your payment. Individuals who begin a subscription during the year will receive their accounts when they are due. Thanks! In turn we assure you that we do our utmost to keep the cost of the magazine to an absolute minimum and try to make things as simple and “user-friendly” as possible.
In a world of ever-increasing unbelief, scant regard for others, chaos, and fear, we do well to seek and cling to the “one thing needful”.
May our loving Father watch over us in this year of his grace.
