Our Christian Women’s Group meets once a month with a brief business meeting followed by Bible Study, led by Pastor Peter Traeger, taken from the Lutheran Women magazine.
In 2018, our April birthday trip was to Adelaide where we enjoyed a visit to Koorong Bookstore, St Peter’s Cathedral and the LLL. In April 2019, we were able to see the ‘Women of the Bible’ display at Angaston, ‘Step Back in Time’ at Bethany and ‘Come Follow Me’ display at Nuriootpa. Our group supports the Bible Society project with a luncheon, and we have fun learning about another country.
In May, we had a very informative talk from the Pastoral Support Worker at our local area school, and in September we always help to publicise and participate in the Operation Christmas Child shoebox project. A High Tea was held in October 2018, which simply meant that we brought out any fancy crockery that we had, to raise funds for the Leprosy Mission. Honey biscuit packing happens in November, thanks to our small group of bakers.
During 2019, we have had a topic to discuss over lunch, e.g. One of your favourite holidays; your favourite shop etc, and this leads to a good chat.
