A grace is a short prayer or thankful phrase said before or after eating. The term most commonly refers to Christian traditions. Some traditions hold that grace and thanksgiving impart a blessing which sanctifies the meal. In English, reciting such a prayer is sometimes referred to as “saying grace”. The term comes from the Ecclesiastical Latin phrase gratiarum actio, “act of thanks”. Theologically, the act of saying grace is derived from the Bible, where Jesus …
Zion Women’s Fellowship, Angaston
We are a small fellowship, being fed and led by God’s Word, caring for each other, and doing what we can to help. Our big event last year was a Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser in aid of cancer research, and in honour of one of our members, Joan Habermann. As we have a large hall, being COVID-compliant was very manageable. Our speaker was a local retired doctor, speaking about the latest in cancer research. I …

Give us today our daily bread What this means for us God gives daily bread to all people, whether they are good or bad, even if we don’t ask for this to happen. Have you ever watched God’s economy in action – a need you had filled in a way you didn’t expect, coincidentally as you also filled a need for someone else in a way they couldn’t have anticipated?
Devotion – June, 2022
Give us this day (today) our daily bread
Daily bread is everything we need to support this body and life.
As I write this devotion, there are people who are wondering: where is their daily bread, even where is their God? Floods have left all that they need to support this body and life piled up in muddy, mouldy heaps outside their homes. Homes are washed away or uninhabitable, businesses and livelihoods in ruins. Lives were taken. This is happening all along the east coast of Australia…
