Last year we were able to meet in person for eight meetings. About ten ladies join in along with Pastor Shaun Manning. Each February several of us attend the South East Zone retreat in Robe. For over thirty years, St John’s has been the venue for a unique concept – a One Day Retreat, held at the end of May. It is a zone event focussing on a theme with zone pastors presenting Bible studies and opportunities for discussion.
In winter, one of our members has often hosted us for a film afternoon, featuring a thought-provoking film, accompanied by popcorn! A working bee to make and pack birthing kits is another annual activity. This year, we arranged a combined lunch with ladies from Bordertown and Keith at a popular eatery near Padthaway. Honey biscuits are baked and distributed to everyone at the Christmas Eve presentation which, in recent years, has been more available to the wider community, as it has been held in the Naracoorte Town Hall. This year a very solemn Lenten afternoon was conducted by one of our members, as our meeting coincided with Maundy Thursday.
We have been blessed by many purposeful and positive gatherings.
