Warracknabeal Guild

We had a lovely start to the year 2020 with our Guild meeting held at Warracknabeal. Lorna Mills turned 100 on 31 January and, as our tradition when anyone has a big 0 birthday, we make a cake and celebrate with them. Lorna is an active member of our Guild, lives in a nice unit and loves caring for her garden. She plays cards on Monday, goes to Planned Activities Group at the hospital three …

Zion Women’s Fellowship, Angaston

The Zion Women’s Fellowship, Angaston is a group of 12 women who are dedicated, cheerful, well-organised, and always willing to help. We were delighted to welcome Pastor Rob Borgas and his wife, Kriss, in 2018, who have come to us from Alice Springs. Their unique experiences in central Australia have opened our eyes to a different perspective from life in a predominantly German culture. Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month, with …

Ballarat Ladies Fellowship

Ballarat Ladies Fellowship got off to a flying start for 2020 with a large group meeting at our President, Doreen Huebner’s, lovely property at Smythesdale. There was much chatter and sharing after the Christmas break and, of course, ladies enjoyed strolling around the gorgeous garden. It was good to start, again, the Bible Studies from Lutheran Women with Pastor Adrian. We have decided to have most of our meetings this year in ladies’ homes (cool in summer and …

LWV and Tas President’s Report

53rd Convention at St Philips, Tarneit. Green and purple balloons greeted everyone on 4 May 2019 for the LWV and Tas Convention. These colours were repeated at the round tables, decorated with quizzes, prayer cards and jugs of water flavoured with cucumber, lemon, and mint. The 97 attendees enjoyed the friendly, cafe-like ambience under the theme of Walking in Wisdom Proverbs 2:6a. Pastor Mark Winter led the opening worship, emphasising how God is a loving …

LWSA-NT President’s Report

The 2019/2020 year began with a time of celebration, as some 30 members flew to Perth to join our LWWA sisters for their 50th Annual Convention. I trust our time with them gave them support and encouragement. Our 53rd Convention, on 18 May 2019, met with the theme Radiant with Hope. It’s special to see the joy on this day, as some 200 travel from all over the state to be together. Bishop of LCA-SA-NT, …

LWNSW President’s Report

Thank you for the opportunity to let you know some of the ways we serve, share, come together and grow. Each year in March we hold a three-day retreat at Warrambui Retreat and Conference Centre. Each retreat is hosted by a volunteer fellowship or group of ladies, making very diverse weekends. It is wonderful to see how God moves the hearts of these host ladies to choose themes and then focus our attention on God …

LWWA President’s Report

Greetings from the Ladies of Western Australia. A wonderful 50th Anniversary of the LWWA was held in May 2019 at Bethlehem Church Morley. It was a great joy to be able to welcome ladies (and several husbands) from other states. Several past presidents of LWWA were present and assembled to cut a beautifully decorated cake. Our dear President, Roslyn Zadow, was permitted to leave her hospital bed to join in for a part of the …

LWSA-NT Retreat – All Stitched Up!

Extraordinary, amazing, singular, exceptional are words to sum up the LWSA-NT In Stitches Retreat held at Immanuel College, Adelaide from January 17th-19th. Pastor Reid Matthias (of the “Little Church on The Prairie” fame) welcomed retreaters to the fabulous new venue for the 2020 retreat. Pastor Reid is a storyteller, and he did have us in stitches as he shared stories of his journey growing up at Rake, Iowa, on the Prairie in the USA. Pastor …

Barmera Ladies Fellowship

Our happy, caring and enthusiastic group of ladies meet on the third Tuesday afternoon of the month in our church hall, or sometimes we have home meetings. We take turns to read a devotion and host afternoon tea. We have our Bible studies which are taken from the Lutheran Women magazine. For our roll call we choose a hymn verse which is particularly meaningful to us. Our entertainment takes on various forms: going out for …

Bethlehem – Adelaide – Ladies Guild

Bethlehem Women’s Guild, Adelaide, has enjoyed many blessings with Bible studies being led by Pastors Pearce and Pfeiffer, and in 2019 Vicar Peter Noble. Bible Studies are usually taken from Lutheran Women magazine. We are in our 127th year. We had a big celebration in October 2018 for 125th birthday and invited other guilds to share this milestone with us. On the Sunday, we had a community lunch with the congregation to mark the occasion. …
