Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month with 16 members present. The yearly program has had a facelift thanks to pastor’s wife, Tracey. Members act as hostesses for meetings by providing afternoon tea, having opening devotion and lead with project prayer. Some meetings are held in homes, others in the church hall when we sometimes have a guest speaker and a shared lunch.
Pastor Murray Smith leads in Bible study from the Lutheran Women each meeting, which we enjoy and appreciate with good discussion. Holding hands in circle prayer is also part of our meeting.
Involvement in congregation life includes remembering members celebrating 80 and over birthdays. 24 at present. LCC rep organises second-hand clothing collection, sorts and packs goods to go to Adelaide.
Our financial support helps with Shoe Box ministry postage – 76 boxes last year; the local school’s chaplaincy group; LWA projects; Gifts of Grace; as well as local community projects.
Various caterings are undertaken with younger congregation members stepping up as we work together.
The south east zone fellowships continue to be ongoing with a weekend retreat at Robe, a one day retreat at Naracoorte when all pastors come together to lead study groups. We will host the Rally day in August.
Greetings to all in the LWA. May you be blessed, as we are, when studying God’s Word, and enjoy serving the Lord wherever we can.
