For those of us who live in the southern areas of Australia, where the seasons are more clearly defined, the changes in foliage and temperature serve as a timely reminder of our ever-changing world.
The last twelve months have been a series of changes and challenges for us all, but when we take the time to stop and contemplate, we can see our heavenly Father’s hand has been over us, protecting, guiding and pointing us in new directions, with new challenges and new blessings.
Days and seasons … a time for everything … and at the time God chooses.
God promised Noah: As long as the world exists, there will be a time for planting and a time for harvest. There will always be cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night. Genesis 8:22 (Good News) This is his promise to us, too.
The Philosopher’s thoughts in Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 have set the tone for our magazine this issue. I encourage you to read the passage, which is summed up in verse 11a: He [God] has set the right time for everything. Our times are in his hands.
This and following issues of our magazine will contain valuable information about the upcoming Convention of Lutheran Women of Australia in September.
